Running Rainy Coronado Shores Beach on Sunday

San Diego Southern California was hit with several rain storms in the first week of March 2014.  I saw a break in the rain so I headed down to Coronado for my routine Sunday run from the amphibious base to the Navy Seal training base and back.  The tide was super high, so I had to run part of the boardwalk to get to the sandy beach.  I usually run barefoot but used my running shoes due to the freezing cold.  I had three shirts and a hooded jacket which kept me unusually warm.  The path was full of running streams and pools of water from the high tide and rain.  All year round I usually jump in the water afterward for my shower but decided not to today due to cold and rain runoff. I found lots of toys along the way:

My arms hurt...

Tuesday's Muay Thai Kickboxing class ended in push-ups, a lot of them.  I could hardly lift my arms to eat or shave 48 hours later.  Saturdays Boxing Sparring class ended up with "now do 500 push-ups" (I will get them done before next Saturday :-)

Mixing It Up...

I took an inventory of the activities that keep me sane in this mixed up world.
I love breezes, grass under my feet, rain, rocks, sand, scented flowers, sunshine, surf, etc.
Every day I look forward to activities to Oxygenate my body such as Bicycling, Body Surfing, Fishing, Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Running and Surfing.

OB Pier Rocks...

Surfed OB Pier yesterday and caught hube lefts coming from under the pier. Seemed I was observing myself from above as I took off on some Monsters! Got caught inside a couple of times and powered back out. My body was aching last night.

Took a board readiness inventory today and set up ding repairs, narrowed leashes from four to two, pulled out the 7'0" for the next huge swell.

Eye of the Tiger...

I've been attending my new gym La Boxing for two and a half months now. Full contact MMA (mixed martial arts), Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai and Jui Jitsu classes offered Mon-Thu, seven hours a week. Non contact classes offered seven days a week as early as 6:15am. After 35 years of hard core surfing I've only been surfing about 4 times now that I have the gym.

Gotta have a dream...

...to have a dream come true

Joined a gym this week of my 53rd birthday: LABoxing.com. Been wanting to do this for a long long time. Took 4 classes so far: Jui Jitsu, Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts and Kick Boxing. Caught someones forehead on my shin and we both got bruised.

Next weeks surf forecast is 25-40 foot out of the South. Our beach faces South!!! Maybe Thursday will be a good day to meditate and practice Kriya Yoga :-)
